January 2012 - EU-Commissioner Mr. J. Potocnik meets MoRe

The EU-Comissioner Mr. J. Potocnik and his delegation discussed Biodiversity, the financing of protected areas Natura 2000, EU accession to the Carpathian Convention and preventive measures for the elimination of human encounters with bears with a delegation of the Ministry of Environment on January 20, 2012.

In the frame of the held presentations also the bilateral project MoRe was presented in Devin. "The Morava River Restoration: Plan of measures prepared in agreement with EC Water and Nature Protection Directives" was presented and gained high interest and very lively discussion of all participants. The presentation was prepared by BROZ together with State Nature Protection SR - Division: Protected Landscape Area-Zahorie. In this context special acknowledgement belongs to Mr. Valachovic and to his colleagues.

March 2011 - Start of the feasibility study

The first step in the project will be a feasability study to adjust the restoration measures along the 16 river kilometers within the Slovakian-Austrian Transboundary Waters Commission. The aim is to create positive effects for a natural river morphology and for the good ecological status. The kick-off-meeting of the module 2 took place in Bratislava at VÚVH on 25th March.

On the 7th of October 2010 all Project Partners met in Zwerndorf to launch the project in a Kick-Off-Meeting. Besides administrative agreements between the Slovakian and Austrian project partners the first steps towards the detailed planning have been set.
